About Us
East African Community Services (EACS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving East African immigrants and refugees in Seattle and the greater Seattle area. We provide culturally responsive programs that support families, empower youth, and strengthen community connections.
The Heart Behind the Mission
EACS proudly serves East African Communities in South Seattle and South King County.
Over the last 18 years, EACS has grown from a direct social services organization to an innovative, education services organization. We work hard to prepare the next generation of East African youth for higher education and meaning careers they love. Below, find our 2019 slate of programs and services:
- K-12 After School Programs
- Youth Mentorship
- Educating the Horn Summer Day Camp
- YouthCode + Robotics
- U.S. Citizenship Classes
- Parent Leadership Training Institute
EACS is one of the largest East-African led Education organizations in the State of Washington. Every year more than 240 youth and 70 families interact in our youth and family oriented education programs. Annually, we assist many immigrant families in their pursuit of American Citizenship.
Our Mission
Inspire East African immigrant and refugee families to achieve cradle to career success.
Our Vision
A transformed generation of East African youth empowered to thrive from childhood to career.
Our Values
We uplift youth and families through strength, guided by respect, equity, and empathy.
