History, Mission, vision, & values

We are Proud to Serve East Africans in King County!

Founded in 2001, East African Community Services (EACS) is a longstanding,  Black Immigrant-led 501c3 nonprofit community organization. We operate Community Centers in Seattle’s New Holly area and SeaTac, Washington. Our mission is to help East African refugee and immigrant families achieve cradle to career success. We offer wraparound services that touch every area of the family, including Pre-K TO 12 Youth Education and Mentorship, Intervention strategies for youth at-risk or returning to community incarceration, and MathCode+Robotics (STEM) in strategic partnership with Boeing Co.  To engage our parents, provide adult-centered, leadership, advocacy and parental training through our Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI). EACS pioneered the East African Rapid Response Fund (R2F), which provided comprehensive family supports to thousands of diverse African diaspora refugee and immigrant families as well as other BIPOC communities within our service reach. In Early 2022, R2F was made into a permanent organizational department: Family Outreach and Resource Engagement.

Mission, Vision, Values, and Accountability to Community.
